SENIOR AUDIENCES PROGRAMS
More than MusicDouglas Webster is enjoying a performing career that has spanned twenty-five years as stage performer, director, producer and educator. Winner of the Joy In Singing and Concert Artists Guild Awards, he has performed onstage in forty-six of the United States and across Europe. Currently, he and his wife, cellist Elizabeth Byrd share their homes in Portland and South Park, Colorado (yes, THAT South Park) with a cockatiel and two dogs of undetermined origin named Humphrey and Kabella.
While home in Portland, he is available to Senior communities for mid-week, afternoon social events. "He has the undefinable human magic that crosses the footlights..." - The Oregonian Reviews and References“Douglas Webster is a true world-class vocal artist, an absolute top-notch entertainer, and also a wonderful person with a genuine heart for the senior audience. He brings a level of professionalism and excellence that the Pacific NW has seldom seen. He will, no doubt, delight many an audience in our area in the years ahead.”
- Matthew Casey, professional pianist/vocalist Matthew Casey's website: PortlandCrooner.com “Douglas performed at my community for our Valentine’s Day event with Dan Gaynor, pianist accompanying him and they were outstanding! Douglas has a beautiful voice that you can’t truly appreciate without hearing him live. He sang some great Broadway tunes that gave me goose bumps and brought tears to the eyes of many guests in the audience. Dan is very talented on the piano even with his sheet music taking flight mid song. I highly recommend Douglas and Dan for any musical event you might have in mind. You won’t be sorry!” Kathleen C., Marketing Director Hillsboro, Oregon “Doug, Thank you so much for performing for us yesterday. You are SO talented!!! I wanted to let you know how much your performance touched and blessed our residents. They haven’t stopped coming up to me asking how I found you and when you’re coming back and why someone as talented as you would take the time to sing for a retirement community. I’ve had a number of residents tell me you’re the best performer they’ve seen here at PDV. I keep assuring them that you’ll be back. Just want you to know how much yesterday meant to everyone here! Thanks again!!!” Lindsay H., Enrichment Coordinator Tacoma, Washington |

Songs to InspireDrawing from his own list of songs and special requests, Douglas is accompanied by either full-orchestra recordings [listening samples below]
or a virtuoso pianist in repertoire spanning decades and styles. Douglas is a classically-trained vocalist who, in turn, has taught many fine singers now in the field. His Broadway debut was in Les Misérables; his inauspicious Metropolitan Opera debut was made, literally, onstage, singing in a shower. "Here is a serious singer with a vibrant sense of humor." Douglas shares intimate insights to the music and performers who made the songs famous. Whether classical 'arias' or Broadway classics, the concert comes to you. Reviews and References"Doug held his premier performance at my building today. He was amazing. Staff and residents alike were thrilled with a singer of his caliber. He has the ability to transport you to another time or place with his song. People said, "I got goosebumps!" Highly recommended."
Elaine E., Activity Director Longview, WA “It was wonderful having Douglas Webster perform for our residents last week. He brought a real Broadway show experience right to us. Douglas has an incredible voice that was easily heard and understood. He is not only gifted vocally but he also has a great sense of humor. Douglas intertwined his music with stories and jokes and added a performance element that brought his music alive. The residents left the performance hall demanding that he make a return visit. It is a week later and they are still talking about his show.” Mary D., Enrichment Coordinator Rose Schnitzer Manor, Portland “On behalf of Kamlu Retirement Inn in Vancouver I would like to comment on a recent new singing artist to our community – Douglas Webster. Mr. Webster came to Kamlu to entertain at our recent birthday party. Held in our main dining room, his presence/voice projected beautifully. His choice of songs were right on for our population and although his deep voice was easily heard, the loudness of his voice was not a distraction, which is typical for our population of somewhat hearing impaired residents. The audience stayed with him the entire time and could have easily stayed longer if Mr. Webster didn’t have another obligation elsewhere .We happily and gratefully appreciated his talents and are looking forward to another visitation from him.” Marianne B., Kamlu Activities “Doug Webster’s voice and show are that of a consummate professional because that is exactly what he is! Standing ovations and bravos throughout his performance at our golf and country club.” Cathy S. Program Chair, Fairway Ladies Club |
