The Birgitta Music Festival presents The PASSION of BROADWAY

Following the success of Bernstein's MASS in the 2014 Season,  Douglas Webster was invited to produce an evening that would introduce the Estonian audience to iconic Broadway music.  The PASSION of BROADWAY was that concert.

Douglas flew to Tallinn in June for production meetings and to work with the conservatory students and set the initial staging for the concert.

As Host and Music Director of the Birgitta Festival, esteemed conductor, Eri Klas led Barbara Hendricks and Douglas Webster in performance of Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.  This was one of the beloved Maestro's final performances.

The International cast included: Barbara Hendricks (USA/SWEDEN), Marion Elvilä (FINLAND), Angelika Klas-Fagerlund (FINLAND), Koit Toome (ESTONIA), Hanna-Liina Võsa (ESTONIA) and Douglas Webster (USA) led by conductor Erki Pehk (ESTONIA).  Choreography by Dmitri Harchenko (ESTONIA), video and lighting by Aleksei Tarasov (RUSSIA) and musical preparation by Mare Väljataga (ESTONIA).  Festival chorus in cooperation with Georg Ots Tallinn Music School.  Dancers from Tallinn Dance Theatre.  Estonian Dream Big Band and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. Costumes by Liivika Straus (ESTONIA).  Producer for Birgitta Festival, Heili Vaus-Tamm.
